Almost…he spent … Almost…he spent 977 total days at Camp David and his Crawford Ranch, out of 2922 total days in office.
So pretty much exactly 33% of his Godawful presidency was spent on vacation.
And you’re totally right – the selective memory is astounding. Obama goes to Copenhagen for 12 hours to campaign for the olympics, and republicans are !!!!OUTRAGED!!!! because he should be tending to more important matters. Unbelievable.
Didn’t Bush spend … Didn’t Bush spend like over 40% of his time in office on vacation ? Republicans tend to completely forget the last 8 years never happened.
read back you asked … read back you asked for proof on the golf thing multiple times.i gave you how many times he played where he played and how long it took and now it doesnt matter when the fact is it did matter until it didnt fit your opinion
yur opinion of bush means to me.we all get one vote so assuming you even live in usa and assuming you actually vote then i say arguing about this doesnt matter.we all get one vote and i use mine.i dont bash obama b/c bush bashers made me sick.the golf thing is real tho.
I never ask for ” … I never ask for “proof,” mysticx, as it’s impossible to prove anything in cyberspace. I merely pointed out to you that Bush showed very little inclination for working when he was installed as president. He could have golfed, gardened, raised goldfish or played tunes on his toes—-it all amounted to the same thing. This is a rather undisciplined man, who’s never had to work hard for anything in his life. And he certainly didn’t break that pattern during his first months in office.
How many times do I … How many times do I have to repeat: I DON’T CARE if bush likes a game of golf. What I objected to was his lazy intellect, and his delusional idea that he was being God’s instrument by invading a sovereign nation, enriching his oil cronies and wrecking our economy.
I would have had no problem with his leisure activities if he’d balanced them with some pro-active work, to protect our economy, world standing and infrastructure—-but he didn’t. He was a lousy president, as history will show.
bush apologist? lol … bush apologist? lol, he has nothing to apologize for, dont label me.
bush played 24 rounds of golf in 2 years, 9 months. obama played the same amount in less than a year and almost half of it at fort belvoir. those are facts. i cant make you believe it and you obviously have no desire to find out for yourself so why do u even reply here? its been reported by cbs, cnn, fox news, bbc and many others.
“Hey, it’s a common … “Hey, it’s a common well known fact” is not an appropriate way to back up a claim. It was ‘a common well known fact” that the earth was flat 600 years ago; how did that work out?
I’m not interested in believing a claim just because it’s plastered all over a million Obamaphobic right wing websites. And all the vulgar insults in the world aren’t going to turn that sort of vague assumption into fact and logic.
No wonder you’re a Bus apologist—-not a molecule of logic in you.
pres do have the … pres do have the right to leisure time, the point is bush got blasted for golfing in his first summer as pres and there was no war but obama did it three times as much while his own appointed general has been asking for more troops and no one complains. i love seeing bush bashers squirm in their own hypocrisy. not saying that applies to you but that is the basics of the constantly reported story all week that you somehow missed.
get off your … get off your and research something. he could tell you all day his sources and links and youll just shoot it down in the end by saying “why should i believe a youtube user”. this isnt just fact, its a COMMON WELL KNOWN FACT and that you dont know shows how much you pay attention to the politics you so passionately argue about. stop asking for everything to be handed to you. all the time spent arguing you could have just googled what you want to know and not look like an ass.
Sorry, Tobias, but … Sorry, Tobias, but when my discussion opponent refuses to back up his claims, and starts flinging insults instead, i consider the discussion over.
Admit it: you read an article about Obama golfing, tried to blow it out of proportion into an accusation that he wasn’t doing his job, and got busted.
(And you did a mighty poor job of convincing me that you’re not still defending and protecting Bush’s incompetence.) ;>)
“It’s been reported … “It’s been reported in all of the major newspapers this week” is not an answer. WHERE are you getting your statistics, Tobias?
This is not a difficult question to answer. Are you, by any chance, trying to make bogus generalizations, based on a story about a golf outing? Sure sounds like it.
It’s been reported … It’s been reported in all of the major newspapers this week. He IS taking more leisure time than Bush. Much more. Just do a little bit of independant research. Sheez!
but you just keep changing the subject. One minute, you criticize Bush for playing so much Golf, then when I point out that Obama has equaled the 2 yr 9 month output of Bush in 9 months, you change and say nothign is wrong with leisure for the President.
So which is it? Sounds like YOU are just believing what you want. why?
You seem to be … You seem to be backpedaling, Tobias. I was referring to your claim that “Obama is beating Bush in vacation time.” Where did you get your figures? I didn’t see anything like that in the NYT, where you claim to have heard it.
Gosh, for someone who claims to have been completely disillusioned by Bush, you surely are quick to leap to his defense. :>D
What is wrong with … What is wrong with you? I’m not exaggerating anything. He has officially played more rounds of golf in 9 months as Bush did in 3 years! YOU are the one saying it was wrong for Bush. All I did was point out that Obama has played more golf in 9 months than Bush did in 3 years. Just look it up. The amount of time he’s spent on things other than governing is becoming so glaring that even the news agencies that love Obama are starting to cover it.
And where’s your … And where’s your evidence that Obama is doing it “at a higher rate than Bush was”?
(NOTE: “Because that’s what I’m eager to believe” doesn’t count as evidence.)
Because you’re … Because you’re grossly exaggerating. 24 rounds of golf over a year is hardly outrageous for anyone. The rest of your argument is just silly, unless you have evidence that he’s spent a disproportionate amount of time relaxing. Obama has been tackling some very difficult issues this year. What had Bush tackled during his first year (other than a pretzel) before 9/11 forced him into action?
